Like there's no tomorrow

A sunny day in Bologna. Taken by my friend and his pretty impressive camera :)

♥ ♥ ♥

I saw a pretty nice dress the other day at H&M and I had to go and get it yesterday.

It cost only 15€ (I've seen these before for 25€ so it was definitely a bargain). We had a huge house party yesterday and I decided to wear the dress there.

This is how I accessorized it. I decided to go a little over the top with the jewellery and I was very satisfied with the outcome.

I decided to take a photo at H&M because I just received my beloved winter coat earlier this week and after wearing it for 3 winters, I still love it like I just bought it yesterday! I also love my black circle scarf, my purple beanie and the black wedges I'm wearing.

This is how the dress looked on me. Ignore the jeans haha.

Now I'm off to bed, I'm so tired and I've had a terrible headache which apparently has something to do with excessive coughing :(

I'll be there just to watch you fall

Hello everybody! We started our fall break here today and so far we haven't done anything. Two of my roommates are travelling around Europe but I'm stuck here because of financial problems (as in not enough money to travel). But I'm not complaining, there are some pretty sweet shows to go to next week and Lyon is never boring :) I'm also planning a trip to Germany and Italy for next month, I hope it'll happen!

Yesterday we started the vacation with what was supposed to be a girls night but turned into one with the boys, hehe. We ate tortillas, drank some tequila and just talked and chilled. Lovely

Here are some older pictures that I haven't posted here yet.

One day a few weeks ago at Pimkie's. I don't know why I always have to take those mirror pics, so lame :D Anyway, I really liked that day's outfit.

I really want a black-white-grey checkered shirt. No exceptionally nice one has come around yet though. Waiting for the perfect one *fingers crossed*.

And here's some shopping that I've done during the past few weeks. Nothing too much because I don't wanna spend all my money on shopping. These all are just pretty much what my closet was lacking.

A black knitted circle scarf from H&M. I really needed something warm around my neck, it's getting cold here! I was just so pissed off at myself when I realized (at home, too late) that this is partially made from acryl that I really hate because it starts to look awful so soon. I should have known better!

This is also something I really wanted to have in my closet, a white shirt that is slightly transparent. Looks really nice with a simple black top under it matched with black or gray jeans. Now all I need for this is a narrow brown leather belt but where to start looking for one...

I also needed a basic black long-sleeved shirt. The ruffled sleeves are just a bonus ;)

I also needed some new leggings that could be worn with almost anything and these were perfect for that cause.

Well, a girl can never have too many necklaces, right? ;)

These all I found from Mim's and couldn't resist because they had mid-season sale as well and it's funny how all these clothes match together so well. Both the dress and the striped bolero cost only 7€ each.

The golden elephant pendant cost 7€ as well and I just had to get it because I love elephants and it was so cute!

I also found nice basic shoes from Mim's and they cost only 9€. I really needed shoes like this.

I was bored the other night and took some random pictures. This one goes for my dear Taru who wanted to see pictures of normal food that she can't get haha :D This is my typical snack in the evening. The bread is the only thing closest to Finnish bread that you can find here. The yoghurt is divine, there's no such a thing like this in Finland, I'm going to miss that! Vegetables and fruits are nice here so I try to eat them as much as possible. Kiwi is my new favourite.

Oh and the wine.. Well that's what they drink in France! Not a part of my usual evening snack though, believe it or not.

Things are getting back to normal here In The France. I hope the trains, metros and buses start running normally soon. Waiting for the next strike then!

Enjoy your fall break those of you who have it now!

So we can carry on

Greetings from cold and rainy Lyon. Our French teacher told us that it's exceptionally cold now and that it'll keep on going like this :( Nooo! I hope it'll get better soon though.

I've tried to avoid shopping but there was one thing that I really needed.

A perfect hat for autumn that I found from Claire's Accessories. Perfection! The one I ordered from H&M couple of months ago was so horrible compared to this, I'm glad I decided to return it.

I tried to take a picture of me wearing it but didn't succeed too well. Blah. But I love my new hat, guess that was the point in this entry :D

I also needed some long-sleeved tops because somehow I managed to leave all mine in Finland (along with all the autumn footwear and all that blah).

I found this perfect top from H&M and I could honestly wear it everyday. And you can wear it both at school and in parties if you accessorize it accordingly :)

Feels like Sunday.. I didn't have school today but luckily we finally managed to fill our CAF applications and send them (CAF here is like Kela in Finland, we're supposed to get student's financial aid from there). We also started new healthy life with my colocataires, let's see how long we can resist all the delicious croissants and macarons. My bet is that not for too long :D

I'll be the guide for all time

It's amazing that our house is still up and running after Friday night's bday celebrations. This is what I saw when I woke up on Sat morning.

Impressive, huh? :D There weren't too many clean spots left. All in all, it was such a good party, I really enjoyed it and I think house parties are always better than going to a club or something like that.

I look super tired. Guess that's what being an exchange student does to you. Now I'm signing off and going to bed :)

Is this Africa?

Hello peeps :) I'm so tired once again but I decided that I should post more often so here we go. Yesterday we had a party at an Aussie bar, which was really nice even though we didn't stay out too late and it was raining really bad outside. Oh and the subway was partially out of order so we had to walk for miles (and I was wearing heels) in the pouring rain.

Today I was at school from 11.45 til 16.45 and after that me and one of my roommates went shopping at Part-Dieu. I bought some pretty nice clothes but I'll show them later :)

Anyway, this is old news, but on Sunday we went to this really big park here in Lyon, called Parc de la Tête D'Or.

Looks pretty, right? We're gonna have a big picnic there with the exchange students on Sunday. Don't know why but this reminds me a bit of NYC Central Park even though I've never been there.

Entering the park.

The best thing about the park was all the amazing animals and the zoo.

And there's no entrance fee or anything, you get to see everything for free which is so cool :) Bambis!

Giraffes are so cool, one of my favorite animals :)

Giant turtle.

But the best thing in the zoo was definitely the elephants! I'm a huge elephant fan and I had never seen them before (not even in Thailand, so weird) and I was so happy to see them here.

They kept throwing sand on themselves :D

Us hanging out with the elephants.

And one of the elephants' ass :D How convenient.

We also wanted to get cotton candy because the smallest one cost only 1€. Yes, that's the smallest one they had.

Gotta get to bed now, I'm dead tired from shopping and skyping and school and whatnot. Tomorrow some classes and a biiiiiig exchange student party.

P.S. I've now spent more than a week here. Wonder how fast the rest will go...

Lyon, j'arrive!

Hours to go: 9,5!

I'm no longer counting the days but the hours. So weird and I'm not really sure if jumping on my suitcase would be in order. I've packed too much stuff, as always. But better safe than sorry!

I've spent my last day in Finland by packing, cleaning, swearing and meeting some friends.

This is what I wore today and I'm also going to wear the same outfit tomorrow because of my sudden lack of inspiration. Or maybe I have it too much because this ensemble looks really good to my eye and brings something new to my style. What do you think?

The vest is my mom's old and it was too big and baggy for me so I took it in a bit. I'm also wearing a self-customized polka dot bow brooch (I made it from a hair accessory of some kind), pearls are from KappAhl, the watch from Seppälä, the striped shirt from H&M and I'm wearing also my favourite black Cheap Monday jeans. I sewed them a bit today as well, I like my skinny jeans skinny! :)

So lots of self-customized clothing items today, very nice change for my eternal supply of H&M stuff. And refreshingly frenchy too!

I also got a Coca-Cola t-shirt in mail today. I collected it a couple of weeks ago. Sadly I don't have any time to sew it so it has to be left in Finland. I used to have almost the same kind of a Coke shirt but it seems to be lost now. Well, this looks better anyway!

I should get some sleep now, my dad will pick me up in less than 8 hours to take me to the airport and I still have to finish my packing and do the dishes.

Heikki the guinea pig was picked up by my dad this morning and I already miss him a whole lot! The photo is taken by my dear friend Sarkku. You can read about our pet meeting on Sweet Vanity :)

Happily ever fucking after

Days to go: 1

I'm going crazy any minute now. I still haven't packed or cleaned or taken out the trash or... could someone just please come and pack for me?

I still have to find some time tomorrow to buy all the rest of the needed things but here's what I purchased today:

It was about time I dyed my hair (roots) and I bought Live Color XXL Absolute Platinum, because I really like these Live colors and they already had the perfect shade I'm going for when I come back from France! I'm so stoked. New heat defence spray, shampoo and conditioner were needed too and these Tresemmé products have been proven good so I got them without thinking much.

I also needed a new dry shampoo and I got the one from Klippoteket. I haven't used this before but it's said to be good so I bought it.

I also found some time to go out for a coffee with my friends and this is what I wore. I found the lace layered top from my closet today (I turned it upside down to be better able to find the right clothes for France) that I haven't used before and I matched it with Cheap Monday jeans and a diamond necklace from JC.

This is what I've managed to pack so far :D Tomorrow is going to be one busy day, I'm telling you. All the stuff on the windowsill is coming too. The only thing in the pic not going is the Marshall amp :D

And here are the shoes I'm taking with me. There's still room for one pair but I don't know which ones to take: heels or flats? Any suggestions? Biker boots are in the suitcase already.

So that's it for today. I really hope I'll make it before Tuesday morning.

P.S. Don't I have the coolest suitcase ever? ;)
